Minecraft Meet-up in Peterborough Awful!

Minecraft meet-up in Peterborough described as 'awful' 14 September 2015 Angry parents of Minecraft gamers have taken to social media to complain about awful queues and a lack of activities to do during an unofficial convention. About 4,100 people took part in MineVention at the Peterborough Arena on Saturday to meet star players and take part in games. But dozens of people said they queued for hours to meet idols and eat food, and are demanding refunds. Lisa O'Brien, the organizer who organized the event, said that the lines were long and she will issue a statement about refunds on time. The event is not affiliated with Minecraft developer Mojang and was founded in Ireland. It was the first time it was held in the UK. TV presenter Fans of Minecraft the worldwide gaming phenomenon, had the chance to meet Youtubers, take photos, and play games. The event was hosted by Jason Bradbury, TV's Gadget Show host, and urged viewers to dress up as Steve the game's protagonist to attempt a world record. However, it was criticized on social media for the long queues, lack of food and merchandise stalls and other issues. Vicky Abraham posted on Facebook that she had queued with her son, who is five years old, for over an hour only 30 seconds on a laptop. Another parent said she had to wait 45 minutes for water bottles, and that the event was appalling with nothing to do. Another parent called the BBC to say that they left after 30 minutes due to the long lines and her son was crying all the way to home. Some people shared on Facebook that they were happy with the event, one of them said: I thought your event was fantastic for PS15. Lisa O'Brien, of O'Brien Event Management She said that she did sympathise with parents, since we all have children. She said the queues were 45 minutes too long due to the number of people who showed up on the day, rather than purchasing tickets in advance. She claimed that the convention has never been held on such a scale before, and that some official merchandise did not arrive in time for the event. She said that organisers had taken into consideration all comments and suggestions and would be meeting to figure out the reasons for the incident, and that a further announcement would be made on Monday evening.
